Job Responsibilities: * Application of electrical engineering principles and techniques to design, develop, document, verify, support, and troubleshoot digital hardware of moderate to high complexity. * Project Engineering and Cost Account Management for Hardware Development activities - requires experience serving as a project engineer and/or CAM on design and development programs * Support development of digital hardware circuit boards used in high performance communication products, such as sophisticated software-defined radios and data links * Perform activities that span all phases of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, factory transition, and customer interface. * Work closely with a multi-functional organization comprised of Systems Engineers, FPGA Engineers, Software Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing/Operations, and a variety of Shared Service Organizations to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle. Relocation to Cedar Rapids is required. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

Must Have Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and at least five years of related experience. * Must possess or be eligible for obtaining a U.S. DOD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. * Domain knowledge of digital electronics and experience with digital electronics design principles and techniques (e.g. Microprocessor, CPLD/FPGA, ADC, DAC) including experience working with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Analyzers, etc.). * Experience in aspects of the digital hardware life cycle, including requirements capture, design and development, debug and test, and requirements validation. Includes circuit board design experience including experience with schematic capture tools. * Project Engineering and Cost Account Management for Hardware development – Ability to perform planning and manage execution of Scope, Schedule, and Budget. Includes ability to do the following: Monitor and status progress, analyze performance utilizing Earned Value (EV), Microsoft Project, and SAP; Identify and manage risks and opportunities. Includes knowledge of the hardware development processes and how to coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules * Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce detailed, clear and concise technical documentation. * Results oriented with effective oral/written communication skills, interpersonal and team skills

Desired Experience/Skills (but not required): * Experience with Signal integrity and timing analysis tools such as Hyperlynx and/or Timing Designer * Knowledge of FPGA, ARM Processor, and DDR memory * Knowledge in the area of high speed design practices including signal integrity * Working knowledge of digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay). Includes knowledge of computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and characteristics (e.g., throughput, processing architecture, timing, capacity).
