The Registered Physical Therapist in Mercy Home Care is responsible for the provision of therapeutic evaluation, exercises and treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part under MD orders, and in accordance with the State Practice Act. Collaborates with other members of the health care team. The age of patients served ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Job Description Details:
Must be a graduate of a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist. (IA/IL) Must provide current, valid auto insurance. Must have a minimum of one-year recent physical therapy experience. Home healthcare experience preferred. Must provide current, valid drivers license. Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire. Acute observation skills required. Must have customer service focus. Must be able to adjust daily patient schedule when unexpected problems occur. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Intense concentration is necessary to complete the responsibilities of the position. Must be able to use and operate all physical therapy equipment and /or office equipment, including Point of Care devices. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment. Demonstrates ability to work independently and execute own workload. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
