Truncated due to limited spacing: Authorize inventory and schedule production orders to meet customer delivery requirements while promoting manufacturing efficiencies. For assigned manufactured products, determine customer promise dates, monitor production progress and identify potential delivery issues and works closely with Manufacturing, Demand Planner, Purchasing, and Customer Service to resolve the issues. Essential Job Functions I. Inventory Planning/Authorization A. Determine production quantities to be manufactured by releasing firm "Repetitive Schedules". Order size determination to be consistent with facilities’ guidelines and procedures and application of Economic Order Quantity principles. B. Ascertain demand by review of MRP system including work-center load and action message reports. C. Advise Supervisor/Manager of unusual sales demand. D. Determine production requirements by reviewing available inventory and current production status. E. Daily makes QAD maintenance entries as needed to remove leftover order balances. II. Customer Service/Commitments A. Promptly assess customer delivery requests and determine best promise date commitment. B. Advise Supervisor when not able to make promise date commitments within standard lead time. C. Monitor production progress and identify potential late shipments in advance. III. Production Scheduling A. Checks to see if proper tooling and raw material is on hand before scheduling onto headers. B. Determine order start and due dates. C. Print and review Dispatch Report (header schedule) proofread for accuracy and release to manufacturing and toolroom. D. Revise production schedule due dates to reflect current production plans. IV. Delivery Problem Resolution A. Address potential and actual delivery problems through effective communications and teamwork involving CSR’s, Manufacturing, Purchasing, etc.V. Capacity Planning - Monitor production output and work-center loads. Advise Supervisor of significant capacity excesses or shortages. Utilize alternate work-centers to balance loads. Adjust production start dates to smooth demand fluctuations. VI. Safety and Housekeeping A. Follow all established company safety procedures and report unsafe hazards or violations to Supervisor. Must be available to work overtime. REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Good math skills, ability to do quantitative analysis. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure of time constraints. Good organizational skills. Demonstrated proficient keyboard ability.
PREFERRED: Strong knowledge of heading process and heading equipment. Knowledge of fastener manufacturing. Personal computer experience. Knowledge of Production/Inventory Management procedures. APICS certification. Knowledge of TS16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
