From career development to comprehensive benefits to our vibrant, diverse work environment, you'll find plenty of opportunities to enrich your personal and professional life.As Managing Director - Risk Management you will have the following accountabilities:Responsible for leading the development, implementation, communication and maintenance of a comprehensive, globally focused risk management program in conjunction with the Chief Risk Officer of Principal Global InvestorsDesigning risk policies and proceduresMonitoring and managing risk levelsProviding technical expertise, advice and consultation to management and business partners regarding product and business initiativesRisk and control assessments, incident tracking, error investigation and resolution events, risk data trends, etc., across PGI's global operationsPrimary focus will be on the funds business segment.Responsible for promoting a strong risk management culture throughout the organization through training and education initiatives with business partners and risk management staffQualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 10+ years related work experience required (Operations Officer, Risk Officer etc.).Broad knowledge of risk management practices and experience with risk tools (i.e. risk assessments, key risk indicators, incident tracking, loss modeling) required.In-depth experience in an enterprise risk management or business operations capacity within a global asset management or fund management firm strongly preferred.Deep understanding of financial service products and markets, pertinent securities laws and regulations, back office operations and trading systems.Must have proven and strong abilities and skills in the areas of written and verbal communication, presentations, attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, decision making, consulting, influencing, and relationship building skills.Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively work independently and within a collaborative team environment, lead others, take initiative, resolve conflict, be flexible, and prioritize multiple tasks required.Proficiency working with the Microsoft Office suite of applications preferred.Success in this position requires a deep technical understanding of risk management tools and techniques, ability to see the _big picture_, a strong business focus, client orientation, and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be comfortable providing consultation and direction to individuals at varying levels within the organization, boards and committees. Must display a high level of professionalism and ability to explain complex information to individuals with varying degrees of understanding.
