YMCA of Greater Omaha Childcare Worker in Glenwood, Iowa
In collaboration with supervisor and other staff, plans, organizes and executes activities for children.
Monitors the area at all times to ensure safety and intervenes as necessary.
Models a positive environment for all participants.
Instructs children in the rules of the center and ensures adherence. Disciplines children only when appropriate and within the established guidelines of the YMCA and parent.
Immediately handles and reports all unusual incidents or accidents to the Supervisor and Executive Director and completes all necessary reports.
Ensure the facility is neat and free of all safety impediments.
Regular scheduled attendance; on-site attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to learn and apply the facility’s emergency procedures.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work with a diverse group of people; bilingual ability helpful.
Experience, Education and Certification(s):
High School Diploma/GED or pursuing
Previous successful experience working with children of varying ages
Previous successful experience working with diverse communities and leading complicated organizations.
Hold CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration (must have within 90 days of hire) and job related certifications
