  • Position objective:* A Content Specialist II applies content knowledge, flexibly and creatively, to further the work of the content team in exemplary ways. An individual in this position brings a global perspective and has knowledge of curriculum and workforce trends relative to the field of learning and assessment. The individual understands best practices in test development, contributes to process improvement activities, and has the ability to consistently create and deliver high quality test materials on schedule.

Typical work-related activities include:

  • Create and/or review content as per quality processes and specifications

  • Assist in the creation of content authoring assignments and passage/stimuli selection (attending to accessibility and text complexity)

  • Work directly with external content providers to ensure the generation of high quality content aligned to item specifications

  • Assist in the creation of documentation to support content export and approve exported content in test delivery system

  • Assist in the creation of rubric/scoring criteria, range finding, validation, and calibration papers, performance scoring training

  • Assist in the completion of content alignments

  • Contribute to construct definitions, claims, evidence statements, task templates, and item/passage/stimulus/rubric specifications

  • Contribute to root cause analysis activities

  • Contribute to proposal responses

  • Contribute to overall content quality including scoring monitoring

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*

  • EDUCATION:*

  • Bachelor’s degree in content or related field required

  • Graduate degree preferred

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired

  • EXPERIENCE:*

  • One year test development experience

  • One year workplace or teaching experience preferred

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:*
