This position may be located in Johnston, IA or Madison, WI per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the potential candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.

Your Responsibilities

As a Data Wrangler for John Deere Financial, you will efficiently locate, acquire, and combine data from internal and external sources. You will make this data available to be used by Data Scientists for the development of descriptive and predictive analytic models and use programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, and SQL to create automated processes for data gathering, cleansing, reporting, and visualization. In addition, you will:

  • Make new data available and/or develop new data sources as needed to support the John Deere Financial Customer and Channel Analytics team

  • Identify data quality issues, clean data, and support efforts to close systematic data quality issues by working with business and IT Data Stewards to identify and recommend changes to systems and/or business processes

  • Participate in the development of analytic models and solutions as required by the John Deere Financial Customer and Channel Analytics Data Scientists and Data and Analytics Catalysts to ensure the data is valid, accurate, and applicable

  • Work with Data Wranglers and Catalysts supporting other analytics teams to ensure customer and channel data is available and used appropriately to support their priorities

  • Provide guidance to lower level Data Wranglers

What Skills You Need

  • Experience programming in SAS, SQL and/or other programming languages

  • Experience with database management tools

  • Experience working with large volumes of data

  • Ability to synthesize, report, and visualize data, and then make observations and/or recommendations

  • Excellent written documentation skills and above average verbal communication abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Experience with economics or statistics

  • Experience querying databases and accounting systems

  • Knowledge of the markets and business in which John Deere competes

  • Knowledge of John Deere Financial products, services, and channels

  • Ability to influence without authority

Education (or equivalent experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business/Management, Accounting/Finance, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related discipline
