Job Description

Under general supervision, performs professional manufacturing engineering assignments andsupportsbrazing functions throughout the plant. This position will primarily focus on developing and refining automated and manual brazing manufacturing processes.

The position will provide direct advisory support in the design, fabrication, modification and evaluation in support of brazing operations. Prepares plans, process specifications and procedures, production aids and assembly fixtures, conducts MRP support studies, factory cost work standard development and assignments of similar complexity. Compiles and evaluates test and production data, prepares technical analysis, recommends manufacturing methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes. On occasion may assist in additional manufacturing processes such as machining, metal forming, welding and brazing, assembly and material handling.

Provide concurrent engineering support and recommend braze and weld joint manufacturing methods to the engineering design team.Conducts analyses or tests pertaining to the development of new methods, materials, processes or standards and provides recommendations accordingly. Makes recommendationsby studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; and conferring with equipment suppliers and other technical experts.Coordinates activities and plans with other technical support personnel. May assign work to drafters and technicians, technical writers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel as required.


Requires Bachelors of Science (BS) Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Weld Engineering or Materials Science Engineering or related engineering field; 2+ years of related experience desired.Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Experience with analytical and CAD software. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Working knowledge of and experience with statistics and quality systems; six sigma problem solving methodology a plus. Requires strong knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.
