Title: Senior Systems Engineer - 28435

Your Responsibilities

As Senior Systems Engineer, for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) in Urbandale, IA you will lead the system design activities for the infrastructure sub-systems of our advanced in-vehicle displays. In addition you will:

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify and capture stakeholder and system requirements that are essential for defining and managing the behavior, scope, context, and complexity of the system.

  • Lead the evaluation of technical options and decision making for a cross functional development team.

  • Provide engineering direction concerning the integration of electronic sub-systems into John Deere machines and other OEM equipment.

  • Be the organizational technical expert for assigned systems.

  • Analyze field data and customer feedback to understand and quantify performance/quality gaps and drive them to closure.

What Skills You Need

  • Demonstrated technical leadership.

  • Five (5) or more years of software centric product engineering experience.

  • Two (2) or more years working with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in roles that demonstrate an attention to detail, ability to work quickly, and ability to adapt easily in a dynamic, diverse team environment.

What Makes You Stand Out

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience in roles that required an understanding of systems engineering principles.

  • Experience in roles that required a strong understanding of embedded software engineering principles.

  • Experience with Agile software development practices.

  • Experience with Agriculture and/or Construction vehicles electrical systems, ISO11783-based CAN networks, Ethernet, and GPS based guidance systems.

  • Experience testing systems that demonstrate an ability to verify or validate functionality.

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors of Arts/Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • Additional coursework or certificate related to Systems Engineering is a plus.
