SHIPPING & RECEIVING TECHNICIAN: Days (Monday-Friday) Duties to include: Utilizes CSI software system to obtain processing information. Loads and unloads incoming and outgoing parts using appropriate equipment. Verifies receipt of parts by signing for them upon arrival at docks. Inspects for (damage, rust, etc.) and verifies quantities and hardness of incoming materials by unpacking parts. Stages materials in appropriate location for processing. Confirms material condition by conducting appropriate examination, if required. Checks for any changes in process/program instructions by analyzing the purchase orders, part prints, and related information. Identifies parts and steps in processing by attaching process routing ticket to parts. Furnishes information for processing, shipping, billing, and identification by preparing the work order. Ensures safe and punctual delivery of parts by appropriate packaging and shipping of parts. Provides proper documentation and identification for shipments. Operates shop equipment including: cranes, forklift, various hand tools, cut-off saw, sandblaster, belt sander, grinder, hardness tester, degreaser, and other equipment, with appropriate training. Assumes responsibility for cleaning, minor maintenance, and proper storage of shop equipment as part of everyday operations. Performs all duties in an efficient, effective and safe manner. Performs all other duties as management directs. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Education, experience and skills: A high school degree or equivalent with high school math and reading skills. Ability to interpret and follow TS quality instructions and procedures as well as ability to learn and follow detailed process work instructions. Previous experience in shipping/receiving functions preferred. Physical, mental and environmental requirements: Must have the ability to work closely with a variety of people at different organizational levels, and the (physical/visual) ability to operate machines at or within arms reach. Position requires heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis to move or work with objects. Position also involves walking, climbing, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, feeling, kneeling, standing, lifting, hearing and talking on a regular basis. Must be able to lift items of considerable weight and size in a repetitive fashion. Position requires manual dexterity to work with tools/equipment and good vision to work with material at a distance close to the eyes. Must be able to use extremely good judgment and decision making regarding safety on a regular basis. Must be able to comprehend written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions in English.
