POSITION PURPOSE:

The Activities Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the execution of extracurricular activities and events within the school district. Working closely with the Activities Director, this position contributes to the development of a vibrant and diverse extracurricular program that enriches the educational experience and fosters student engagement and leadership development in the school community.

EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Supervision and Support:
    • Supervise students before, during, and after extracurricular activities and events, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to school policies.
    • Provide guidance and support to student leaders, club sponsors, coaches, and volunteers involved in organizing and running activities.
    • Supervise spectators and facilities during extracurricular activities serving as administrative representative on duty.
    • Collaborate with visiting officials and clinicians at extracurricular events as needed.
  2. Event Setup and Coordination:
    • Assist in setting up equipment, facilities, and materials for extracurricular activities and events, including athletic games, club meetings, performances, and special events.
    • Coordinate logistics such as venue setup, equipment distribution, and technical support to ensure that events run smoothly.
  3. Student Engagement:
    • Encourage student participation and engagement in extracurricular activities by promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
    • Foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among students by organizing team-building activities and social events.
  4. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members regarding upcoming activities, schedules, and logistics.
    • Collaborate with the Activities Director and other school personnel to align extracurricular programs with the school's mission and goals.
  5. Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution:
    • Address issues and conflicts that arise during extracurricular activities in a prompt and professional manner.
    • Work with students and staff to resolve conflicts and promote positive behavior and sportsmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Capable of representing the school and district in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, communication skills, and other areas of professionalism
  • Adheres to district policies and ethical standards
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess or learn requisite knowledge to provide support at extracurricular activities.
