As a member of our team, you will provide materials management expertise to the operations team in addition to maintaining inventory accuracy, work order consumption, and ordering of direct materials.

The Materials Technical Advisor (MTA) you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals.

What do we want to know about you?

Bachelor's Degree; Or a 2-year degree with 2 years of professional work experience; Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Operations or Military Service

Willingness and ability to work in a shop environment.

Ability to complete Wabtec’s Level 1 Technical Advisor Training Certification

Proficiency in MS office applications

Previous supervisory experience, materials knowledge and MRP experience

Previous experience in logistics and warehousing

What will your typical day look like?

Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers, warehouse and within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material/production needs. Positions requiring understanding of a material and MRP concepts, methods, and procedures. Lead a team of hourly employees in execution of activities. This position requires working on-site as an essential function.

Ensure that work environment is safe for yourself and co-workers. Drive a mindset of continuous improvement around safety in the shop.

Focus to ensure inventory and MRP accuracy with activities similar to, but not limited to cycle counts, warehouse and offsite supplier audits, physical inventory, etc.

Work to no material shortages to the production lines supported. While also achieving positive results in MTA metrics including but not limited to material availability, inventory, renewal parts OTD, NCMR closure, non-nettable inventory, premium transportation, warehousing spend, POD claims, warehousing discrepancy, UX blend, fallout rates, UX processes

Create and execute continuous improvement projects to deliver efficiency, safety, and cost savings for yourself, material controllers, production lines, or the shop as a whole.

Manage and give daily direction to a team of hourly employees. Develop and follow standard work for yourself and your hourly teammates. Ensure accountability while making sure to grow, train, and educate teammates with growing expertise. Work well with others to achieve success as one materials team in Grove City.
