The North Polk Community School District is a progressive educational community located in the Des Moines metro area just north of Ankeny serving the communities of Alleman, Elkhart, Polk City, Sheldahl, and Northern Ankeny. The District proudly serves over 2200 learners from preschool through 12th grade in five buildings (West Elementary, PK-2nd; Big Creek Elementary, 3rd-5th, Central Elementary, PK-5th, Middle School, 6th-8th; and High School, 9th-12th). Big Creek Elementary, in Polk City, is looking for a qualified substitute to join our team by fulfilling a planned absence starting August 21 for twelve weeks for a School Counselor. Compensation:$200.00 per day
Benefits:
- All substitutes are eligible for IPERS immediately (no qualification period).
School Hours: 8:20 AM - 3:20 PM. Requirements:
Valid Iowa Board of Educational Examiners licensure
All applications must include a minimum of 3 completed references.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Substitute teachers are responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in absence of the regular teacher.
