Job Title: Administrative AssistantHours: 8:45 am - 12:45 am (Monday - Friday)Location: Willowbrook Elementary Qualifications: Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Demonstrated competency in computer usage including Microsoft tools and district software.

  • Ability to perform basic bookkeeping skills, mathematical skills, and operate standard office equipment.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and function under pressure and deadlines.

  • Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.

    Desired:

  • Associates Degree in business or education related field.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

    Reports to: Building Principal or Director Job Goal:This positionmaybe responsible for enrollment, attendance, substitutes, and student records. The performance responsibilities as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the building assigned. Performance Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone, distribute calls, take messages, and handle intercom and A-phone system.

  • Distribute inner office mail including distribution of extra-curricular and community activity bulletins.

  • Maintain control in office: based on assignment may wait on visitors (parents and/or students), make change to records as needed, assist staff with materials and/or printing requests.

  • Perform duties as intermediary for disciplined students.

  • May be required to input budgetary items into the District’s finance system, communicating with District Office as needed.

  • Order and bill supplies if requested.

  • May sell tickets for activities in auditorium and for assemblies.

  • Produces correspondence at principal or director’s direction

  • Does back-up type duties in absence of other office staff.

  • Provide an appropriate role model for the students.

  • Maintain confidentiality on sensitive information.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Physical Demands:

  • Must be capable of sitting throughout the work day.

  • Must present appropriate appearance and personal cleanliness suited to working in close proximity to students and adults.

  • Must be able to work with interruptions during a work shift.

  • Must be capable of working with students with different personalities, capabilities, and physical and mental limitations.

  • Must be capable of working in a noisy environment.

    Note: The physical demands described above represent real life tasks an employee may need to perform as part of the essential functions of this job. While the frequency may be low, the above stated physical demands may be required during the course of a daily work shift. Tasks that have physical demands that exceed the above stated limits should only be performed with sufficient manpower or material handling equipment.
