Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Altoona
Job Description
Provide maintenance support required to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment. Perform preventative maintenance for the plant and assist with breakdowns and other mechanical issues. Participate in major overhauls of plant equipment and perform minor repairs to all plant equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance for the plant.
Assist with breakdowns and other mechanical issues.
Work on 3 phase electrical systems.
Conduct basic cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
Work on conveyors and belting for different lines.
Operate forklifts and fork trucks when needed.
Change drive belts, timing belts, and other parts on all machinery.
Change filters and oils in plant equipment.
Replace packing/mechanical seals and gaskets in all pumps.
Maintain water chemistry in necessary systems.
Identify and replace bearings and seals as required.
Troubleshoot both AC and DC circuits (programming not necessary).
Perform welding - TIG, MIG, and arc welding on carbon and stainless steel.
Repair and replace vari-drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, and product pumps.
Troubleshoot 208V AC 3 phase electric motors and circuits.
Troubleshoot DC motors and circuits.
Troubleshoot and follow schematics for control circuits (both 110 AC and DC voltage).
Understand and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Familiar with hardware components of Programmable Logic Controllers and able to troubleshoot them (no programming necessary).
Essential Skills
2+ years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience.
2+ years of VFD or PLC experience.
Troubleshooting equipment.
Maintenance technical degree preferred.
Experience with preventative maintenance.
Experience reading electrical schematics and diagrams.
Ammonia experience is a plus.
Robotics experience is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with pneumatics, PLCs, PLC troubleshooting, electrical, mechanical repair, hydraulics, schematic reading, and blueprint reading.
Experience with Allen-Bradley equipment, conveyors, motors, electrical maintenance, industrial maintenance, preventive maintenance, photoeyes, and VFDs.

Work Environment
This role involves working in a true plant/assembly line environment within a food-grade facility, where production occurs at temperatures above 60 degrees. Shift openings include A shift (overnight) with hours from Sunday 7pm-7:30am and Monday-Thursday 11pm-7:30am. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required as needed. Pay shift differentials include an hourly rate plus $1.35 for overnight shifts and $1.00 for afternoon shifts. The plant operates 24/7 with a team of 8 maintenance technicians, aiming to expand to 11. Required dress includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hairnets. Must be able to move 75 pounds over 25 feet and stand for an 8-hour shift with occasional breaks.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $33.00
