Title: Transportation Manager Required:

  • Associate’s degree or two years of equivalent work experience in a management-related field.

  • At least one year of successful management-related experience in a transportation department or related field is preferred.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including communicating information clearly and concisely.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage time.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and manage an assigned project from start to finish.

  • Must possess strong computer skills.

Reports to: Director of TransportationJob Goal: To help lead the orderly and safe operation of the transportation department by providing managerial assistance and support to the Director of Transportation and the department.Performance Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a safe, effective transportation experience for all students by applying appropriate policies to transporting students.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Transportation to ensure the safety and security of the transportation department, including the building, gates, bus stops, drop-off and pick-up zones, etc.

  • Work as an administrative liaison among the transportation department, building administration, activities departments, families, and service providers.

  • Connect and engage social-emotional learning programming in the transportation system (Leader in Me, PBIS, Olweus, etc.)

  • Monitor the bus surveillance camera system and be responsible for its proper function and operation.

  • Monitor and respond to transportation-related behaviors to ensure the safety of all students, associates, and drivers and work with building administrators on higher-tiered infractions.

  • Process and document bus referrals in Infinite Campus and communicate consequences for minor infractions while communicating with building administrators on higher-tiered infractions.

  • Manage the supervision responsibilities of the pick-up and drop-off process conducted at the buildings and engage principals to ensure proper supervision.

  • Meet weekly with building administration to ensure needs are met and discuss data or any behavioral/situational trends.

  • Collaborate with the Director and Router/Dispatch in reviewing and assigning routes and providing dispatch assistance when necessary.

    Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work with interruptions frequently during a work shift.

  • Must be capable of walking/standing constantly.

  • Must be capable occasionally of lifting up to 50 pounds to waist level.

  • Must occasionally carry 25 pounds at waist level for a distance of 100 feet.

  • Must occasionally work in extreme temperatures and humid and dusty environments.
