Establishes Departmental goals and Objectives and ensures the execution of activities to meet these goals, ensuring all company policies are adhered to. Actively participates in cross functional teams to meet overall company Key Results. Leadership in inventory and warehouse management to ensure customer expectations are met.SchedulingLead and direct Production Scheduling, Inventory Management and Customer Fill Rates. Work closely with multiple departments including sales, customer service, purchasing operations and distribution to identify and resolve supply chain issues that are preventing goals and objectives for the company to be met.Provide leadership in Safety by ensuring all departments and Salaried reports are active participants in safety Training (meeting all corp. requirements), understand and follow all safety policies/work rules, participate in Safety and Ergonomic meetings and actively promotes and works to improve the safety environment, performance of employees and ensures all safety training, initiatives and metric goals are achieved (meeting established Corp. Objectives). Oversees training and documentation of all plant employees in Fall Protection, Forklift and Pallet Jack equipment.Manages warehousing and distribution activities for the plant and storage facilities ensuring high efficiency levels and initiating changes as needed for improvement. Establishes operational procedures and activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Directs salvage of damaged or used material including all trash and recycling.Supervise and provide coaching to the Distribution Supervisor, Traffic Manager, Scheduler and Dept. Leads as needed. Ensure personal and department goals are established for all positions and align with Operations Goals and Objectives as well as Company Key Results. Reviews employee performance: handle employee discipline as required.Responsible for the scheduling resources to maintain high customer service and plant efficiency and develop recommendations to alleviate equipment, labor, or inventory. Develop a master production schedule with goals to minimize customer order shortages and costly expediting of orders. Confer with department supervisors, transportation manager and scheduler to determine status of assigned daily and weekly production. Expedite and modify schedules as needed based on unforeseen conditions.Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned departments or customers of arrival dates and times, directs shipments to ensure compliance with interstate traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Coordinates with department heads to ensure best utilization of warehouse and staff to support the sales, production and purchasing activities.Assures a clean, safe work environment; and understands and follows Company Quality policies, HACCP and USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.In conjunction with Maintenance, ensures all plant Material Handling equipment is maintained and ensures repair and replacement as needed.Audits and pays bills for all department, Cold Storage, and equipment work.
