Job Description

This is a non-merit, temporary position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

The Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking a dedicated and detail-orientedDocument Scanning Specialistto join our team!

This position involves the management and processing of documents for entry into our Enterprise Content Management System (ECM). The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high image quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scan documents for entry into the ECM.

  • Collect scanning materials and mail from the DMV on a weekly schedule.

  • Prepare documents for scanning, identifying content types and removing any clips or bindings.

  • Ensure image quality standards are met, including page breaks, blank page removal, deskewing, and image optimization.

  • Use production scan software for document processing and understand job setup procedures.

  • Export image data and index information for batch import by team members.

  • Create or assemble documents from scanned imagery and ensure proper indexing with system-required metadata.

  • Conduct quality control reviews of scanned images and indexed information.

  • Assist with records retrieval requests.

  • Provide support with shred route inquiries and document staging for outsourcing.

Pay:

  • $27.02 per hour (up to 780 hours per fiscal year)

Hours:

  • 3 days per week, 6:30 A.M.-3:00 P.M.
