Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:Strong analytical skillsets with experience documenting, analyzing, testing and implementing business process requirements.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate technical information to internal and external customers or vendors

Experience supporting administrative systems in a higher education or knowledge of Workday or similar ERP systems

A desire and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies

Experience with using software development and collaboration tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.

Ability to manage multiple projects of differing scale and duration

Excellent time-management and prioritization skills

Functional knowledge of HR processes and policies.

Job Description:


University Human Resources (UHR) is seeking a HR Business Analyst I and II. The primary focus of this position is to assist with the collection, analysis, testing, and documentation of data to support business operations. This position will prepare reports on data summaries, changes, and trends for use by management to support and maintain the Human Resource related information systems and business processes used by the University Human Resources department.

Minimum qualifications for HR Business Analyst I

Bachelor's Degree

Pay Grade: PS807

Minimum qualifications for HR Business Analyst II

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related experience.

Pay Grade: PS808

These are 2 year term positions.

Example of Duties

  • Analyze and troubleshoot system issues, identify/evaluate resolutions, and communicate results.

  • Researches business process best practices and assists with developing recommendations for business process improvements.

  • Support testing/validating functional changes for usability, performance, and adherence to standards.

  • Supporting the development training material for functional users.

  • Prepares and maintains reporting requirements for functional areas that will be used by functional teams for auditing and leadership for decision making.

  • Collaborate with Reporting and Integrations teams to ensure functionality of designated Workday features continue as planned, and any new. integrations/reports are completed.

Level Guidelines• Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision• Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode• Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope• Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained• Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate• May lead projects of limited scope and complexity• May provide guidance to students
