Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University seeks a Program Coordinator II to work with the school’s director on report writing, outreach and alumni relations, and event coordinating.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the data collection and report writing for required reports such as assessment and accreditation; planning and executing events for the school such as the Greenlee Summit; working with faculty committees to coordinate and administrate programs such as the student scholarships program and faculty awards nomination process; and outreach and alumni relations.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, the ability to understand complex academic organizations and policies, exercise good judgment and discretion and establish and maintain effective work relationships.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 8 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.

Preferred Education and Experience

Degree in journalism, communications, higher education administration, or related field.

Experience with journalism and mass communication accreditation and assessment practices.

Experience working in a higher education environment.

Experience working with donors or alumni relations.
