SummaryUnder the direction of the Building Principal, this part-time position is responsible for providing administrative support to the building's students, parents, staff, and visitors.

Work Schedule:7:30 AM-12:30PM Monday-Friday during the school year (196 days).Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Works and communicates with teachers and other personnel, students, parents and the public.

  • Greets and accommodates visitors, handles incoming telephone calls and takes messages as appropriate.

  • Maintains office filing system.

  • Gathers data for and types correspondence, reports, and schedules.

  • Maintains records for teachers, attendance, health, and/or those appropriate to the requirements of the office/building.

  • Orders, distributes and maintains an inventory of supplies.

  • Maintains budget information and building activity accounts.

  • Coordinates rental and scheduling of extra-curricular and non-school activities, handles and distributes keys to building and maintains related records.

  • Maintains student/school activity accounts and monthly financial statements on receipts and disbursements.

  • Assists in problem resolution in the areas of scheduling, busing, student services or other emergency situations.

  • Contacts and orients substitutes for teaching staff and support staff before school and during working hours as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Post high school education in related field, or the equivalent in experience preferred.

The successful candidate will exhibit:

  • Knowledge and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multicultural/ethnic students, staff and community populations.

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment (i.e. personal computer, calculator, other office equipment).

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures to include recordkeeping, filing, and reporting methods including Google Docs, email, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Ability to handle confidential work with tact and discretion.

  • Ability to interact with other staff, students, and the public to obtain and provide information.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.

  • High standards of ethical conduct and exhibits honesty and integrity.

  • Commitment to quality service.

  • High level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Works with minimal supervision.

  • Consistent and punctual work attendance.
