About the Role:

Are you passionate about driving quality excellence and collaborating across diverse teams? As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our suppliers meet top-notch quality standards, directly impacting the success of our FDA-regulated and ISO 9001-compliant products. This is your opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions will enhance supplier performance, improve products, and ensure regulatory compliance.

This on-site role is based in Ames, Iowa, where you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and have hands-on opportunities to make a difference right at Gemba. This position will have up to 25% travel.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Drive Supplier Excellence : Manage supplier qualifications, maintain quality agreements, oversee scorecards, and conduct on-site audits.

• Foster Continuous Improvement : Analyze non-conformance trends, improve supplier quality, and reduce scrap.

• Ensure Compliance : Lead internal audits and CAPA/SCAR management for the Ames site.

• Collaborate Across Teams : Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering to align strategies and maintain regulatory compliance.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a technical field (engineering/sciences) with 1+ years of experience in supplier quality or quality assurance. Medical device experience? Even better!

• Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills to collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office , statistical tools, and data visualization.

• In-depth knowledge of Quality Management principles within regulated industries (e.g., ISO, FDA).

• Auditing expertise , ideally with certified lead auditor training (e.g., ASQ certification).

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $65,000.00 - $76,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
