Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for performing and monitoring Food Safety and Quality procedures while providing leadership and training to hourly and temporary Quality Assurance personnel.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

• Place and remove hold tags under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager

• Perform daily audits of coolers

• Accurately document all inbound and outbound trucks

• Perform gel pack audits assuring that target weights are met, and they have the proper seals

• Monitor compliance to sanitation and GMP requirements for all team members

• Monitor and document room temperatures throughout the facility as assigned by management

• Monitor and document temperatures of meals

• Perform accuracy checks on thermometers

• Perform direct observations and record reviews

• Accurately complete all required documentation

• Review all records for accuracy and completeness

• Has the authority to stop the line from running if the process is potentially causing a food safety concern

• Work with all departments to enhance Quality Assurance and sanitation programs throughout the facility

• Assist in training all departments in Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated effective Food Safety knowledge (PCQI, allergens, sanitation, GMPs)

• Excellent communicative skills

• Ability to collaborate

• Passion for accuracy

• Completely trustworthy and reliable

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Handwriting is legible

• Must be organized and detail oriented

• Basic computer skills are required

• Must be able to prioritize to meet deadlines

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Forklift experience

• Previous experience in a food and/or manufacturing industry

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms

• Frequently is required to stand, talk, and listen

• Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• Able to perform repetitive movements

• Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
