Lauridsen Group Inc. Applications Research Intern - Proliant Dairy Ingredients in Ankeny, Iowa
The Applications Research Intern will conduct applications research on current and newly developed products to support sales, marketing, and research efforts.
JOB QUALIFICATONS:
Education:
Pursuing a Food Sciences, Engineering or Business degree.
Preferred sophomore or junior classification.
Preferred >3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA.
JOB DUTIES:
Conduct testing and analysis of current and newly developed products to determine functional, nutritional and/or organoleptic properties and performance in finished applications.
Preparation of product samples for use at tradeshows, distributor, and customer locations.
Analyze and interpret data from experiments and communicate the findings into technical data sheets and/or presentations for customers and trade organizations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to learn and understand basic technical knowledge of the functionality and chemistry of dairy ingredients.
Ability to learn how to formulate and optimize the characteristics of a broad range of foods, including baked goods, confectionary products, dairy products, etc.
Basic technical knowledge of sensory evaluation and textural measurement techniques and methods.
Ability to manage and maintain confidential information including research & development projects, sales contacts, financial information and confidential or proprietary formulations.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to comply with work related deadlines.
Ability to remain calm and professional at all times.
Ability to safely operate all necessary office and laboratory equipment to accomplish job duties such as computers and software, laboratory equipment and materials, etc.
Ability to assist with special and ongoing projects as instructed by manager.
Assist in maintaining lab equipment and supplies.
Ability to work effectively as an individual or collaborate as part of a team.
Ability to work up to 20 hours a week.
