Our Ankeny, small business client is growing and adding to their staff. This is a privately held, family feel operation that can offer flexibility. Handle monthly reconciliations, journal entries, month end, AP and AR oversite and PR. If you have a BS in Accounting, are detailed and can change direction on a dime, this could be the role for you. Ideal candidate is 2+ years into their career, has handled and touched all part of accounting and wants to be part of something fun. This role will be instrumental in taking over accounting tasks from the controller, contributing to the growth of a small business. The role involves working on-site and requires flexibility and the ability to switch directions quickly. REF: 01500-0013013176

Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end tasks

• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations

• Apply detailed-oriented approach to all accounting tasks

• Proactively adapt to changing business needs and priorities

• Be an integral part of the accounting team, contributing to its overall success

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, and Month End Close

• Actively participate in creating a fun and engaging work environment.

Requirements

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Minimum of 1+ years' experience in a similar role.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Demonstrated experience with account reconciliation.

• Knowledge and experience in balance sheet reconciliation.

• Experience with bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with general ledger functions.

• Proven ability to prepare and post journal entries.

• Solid understanding of month-end close procedures.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Able to multitask and prioritize work effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills.

• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.

• Knowledge and experience with accounting software.

• Familiarity with financial regulations and standards.
