Description

Robert Half is looking for an Accountant to join our client's team in the construction industry. This role is based in Ankeny, Iowa. This Accountant role will play a crucial role in managing accounting operations, month-end responsibilities and inventory ownership.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Manage the general ledger, including recording and verifying all transactions

• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and rectify any discrepancies

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Utilize ERP and Excel to maintain and analyze financial data

• Ensure accurate asset inventory management and reporting

• Address and resolve any accounting issues or discrepancies

• Monitor financial transactions, ensuring all posted entries are accurate.

Requirements

• Proficiency in accounting- at least 4 years of experience + degree in accounting

• Ability to perform Balance Sheet Reconciliation efficiently and accurately.

• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with General Ledger management.

• Capability to prepare and review Journal Entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures in a construction/contractor setting.

• Familiarity with Asset Inventory management, including monitoring, reporting, and auditing.
