Job Title: Water Treatment Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a Water Treatment Operator with experience operating around utilities and pipe. Entry-level experience is acceptable. The operator will handle excavators, wheel loaders, roll graders, bulldozers, finish graders, and other large construction equipment. Additionally, general labor tasks will be performed when not operating machinery. The primary task involves running an excavator to 'main line dig' for water and sewer pipeline on commercial construction job sites, requiring the ability to locate and navigate around utilities in both urban and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
Operate excavators, wheel loaders, roll graders, bulldozers, finish graders, and other large construction equipment.
Perform general labor tasks when not operating machinery.
Run an excavator for 'main line dig' for water and sewer pipeline.
Lay sewer pipe and water main pipe into and on commercial construction job sites.
Navigate around utilities in urban and commercial settings.
Mainline Equipment Operator: Run an excavator and various other machines. Experience digging with a pipelayer and topman is required.
Backfill Equipment Operator: Run a dozer, excavator, roller, loader, skid loader, and more. Experience in backfilling excavations is required.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years experience running mainline equipment.
At least 2 years preceding the mainline experience running heavy equipment.
Experience digging with a pipelayer and topman.
Experience backfilling excavations.
Proficient in operating dozers, excavators, rollers, loaders, and skid loaders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
License and reliable transportation.
Willingness to unload trucks or pipe and set structures if needed.

Work Environment
We provide quality underground utility services to government agencies, cities, municipalities, and developers in Central Iowa, with 80-90% of the workload coming from municipalities. Our focus is on deep sewer and underground utilities, operating 100% within OSHA guidelines using trench boxes. Safety is a significant initiative, with safety incentive bonuses offered. We are expanding our team due to increased business and seek long-term team members. Projects range from 5 to 40 feet deep. The role involves close communication with the operator and requires a collaborative work style. Dress code includes jeans, T-shirt (no sleeveless), and steel-toe shoes. PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, vests, and gloves are provided. Standard working hours are 7 am to 6 pm, with the possibility of heavy overtime during the week. No weekend work is required.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00
