MSA has an opportunity for aProjectArchitect

specializing in municipal projectsat any of our 17 Midwest offices (WI, MN, IA, or IL). You will have the opportunity to see, and contribute in, projects from start to finish. The projects youll be working on make a significant and positive impact on the communities youre serving. Projects are primarily in the

public sector, including: municipal buildings, water and wastewater treatment facilities, parks and recreation facilities and others. This listing is for our Des Moines, IA office.

Responsibilities

The

work you may do

  • Client relations including attendance at client meetings and interaction with existing and new clients
  • Discipline leadership for internal project teams
  • Project management including project planning, scoping, budgeting and QA/QC
  • Leading the building design process. This includes programming, design concept planning, and design development.
  • Performing code reviews, reviewing specifications, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Preparing full construction documents in collaboration with our other disciplines and assisting with coordination of work.
  • Production of architectural models, including sections/details, using Revit.
  • Bidding and Construction Phase services.
Qualifications

What you bring

Skills and Knowledge / Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering required (masters preferred)
  • 6+ years of prior experience in the field of architecture or engineering required, specifically in municipal projects
  • Proficient use of Revit required
  • Licensed architect preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
  • Outstanding communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work within a team environment
  • Personal drive to take a lead in completing projects, assigning tasks to others and reviewing their work, and maintain open lines of communication
  • This position requires you have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position
