Atlantic Bottling Company Production Support Specialist in Atlantic, Iowa

Overview/Function: The Production Support Specialist is an administrative support role for the Production department ensuring inventory accuracy, appropriate production supplies and raw materials are in stock to help minimize production interruptions, and maintaining accurate documentation, and creating regular reports.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Use ERP program to assist with maintaining and performing various production-related reports including forecast planning, product inventory, raw material tracking, etc.

  • Monitor inventory levels (such as bottles, cans, wraps, closers, etc.) used in the manufacturing process.

  • Document and assist with receiving of incoming raw materials.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of production supplies and raw materials. Conduct inventory reconciliation, and work with production team on raw material supply coordination and ordering based on forecasted needs.

  • Assist with loss prevention by tracking and documenting losses such as full goods and raw materials.

  • Ensure professional contact with visitors in order to favorably represent the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image.

  • Hold high accountability for work performance to ensure the highest of quality.

  • Offer pro-active suggestions for production-related problems.

  • Maintain production efficiency, shift efficiency, and NPSG spreadsheets daily.

  • Oversee and order all chemicals, production supplies, and safety supplies required for production.

  • Keep accurate recording using Concur program.

  • Compile and reconcile End of Month and End of Quarter statements.

  • Oversee Production Support Clerk tasks.

  • Submit DMRs to Coca-Cola for reimbursement for raw material issues.

  • Submit OSD to Coca-Cola Concentrate when there has been an error on the concentrate order.

  • Reinforce safe practices to ensure achievement of department objectives.

  • Regular, consistent attendance is an essential job function.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High School degree with at least a year of general work experience is needed. Associates degree strongly desired. Will consider other equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

  • Previous ERP entry experience is also desired along with previous inventory control experience.

  • Previous food-grade manufacturing background and keen understanding of food safety regulations would be helpful.

  • Good MS Office and computer skills are needed. Previous ERP experience is desired.

  • Well organized and high accuracy is needed to be successful, along with good math, inspection, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read, write, follow process flow charts, and problem-solving are essential skills.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills are needed.

  • Excellent team-player with the ability to effectively interact with multiple departments.

  • Highly-motivated self-starter, with the ability to work with minimal oversight.

  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations, and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Additional:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position will spend their time on the production floor. As a result, they should expect a fast-paced production environment with loud noises resulting and will frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. (Moving equipment and tools will be provided to reduce strains and injury.)

  • This role is expected to be able to:

  • Lift 50 pounds up to shoulder height occasionally.

  • Lift up to 30 pounds above the head occasionally.

  • Reach, push, and pull objects occasionally using up to 20 pounds of force.

  • Climb stairs frequently in a wet environment.

  • Carry up to 20 pounds up six stairs occasionally.

  • Occasionally enter/exit the cab of a forklift.

  • The role involves constant standing/walking. Pulling, twisting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and keyboarding will be required.

  • PPE will be provided to comply with safety, ISO, and GMP requirements.

  • The typical workdays will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Varied hours will be needed based on month end and quarterly financial close. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

  • This role is considered a safety sensitive position.

  • Must have reliable transportation.
