Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

The RN-Clinic functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of the practice by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and teamwork. Will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Performs nursing care to patients by following established clinic workflows based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.

  2. Obtain and document health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and other pertinent health information.

  3. Provides prescribed treatments and interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Refers to/consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.

  4. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

  5. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.

  6. Perform various limited radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis using pre-determined protocols within the scope of individual’s limited radiography licensure (eg, chest; extremities; skull and sinus; spine; ankle and foot; abdomen).

  7. Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure.

  8. Recognizes all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely”.

  9. Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.

  10. May act as team lead for other clinical staff.

  11. Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Successful completion of an ARRT Limited Radiographer Examination upon or within two years of hire.

Required Licensure and Certifications

Current/valid Registered Nurse License from the state licensing board required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.

Must hold a Valid Limited Radiographer License in the State of Nebraska or Iowa, depending on work state upon hire or within two years of hire.

Pay Range

$27.70 - $41.27 /hour
