       Hours:7.0 hpd/exact hours TBDRate of Pay:$18.21/hour (23-24 rate)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Under the direction of the BHS Administrators and in coordination with the Student Support Teams, the TLC Paraprofessional facilitates effective Behavioral, Social Emotional and specific regulational instruction through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to student groups and individualized student supports.

  • Under the direction and supervision of the TLC classroom collaborates and communicates with teachers and students in areas of 21st century social skills learning to improve behavior while working closely with the Student Success Team. Provides student support to establish effective classroom behavior and model skills to maintain positive relationships with all students and adults.

  • Create a supportive environment that includes the intake process with students, family and staff to assess status and immediate needs in collaboration with the Student Success Team.

  • Ensuring daily check in and check out tasks are completed with individualized students, specifically providing routine, structure and life skills training during morning routine to enhance positive classroom experiences.

  • Demonstrates a positive cooperative attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to change to meet department goals.

  • Uses data to identify student needs and plans lessons to provide targeted Tier 2 and 3 interventions aligning with safety, connection, and academic achievement for all students. Is able to manage a small group of students as the skills are being taught. Helps students to increase accessibility to tools promoting skill acquisition for coping, self regulating, self-management, relationship skills, responsible decision making and other skills to enhance positive classroom attendance, engagement and learning.

  • Collaborate with the individual in crisis to develop and implement student center plans. This plan will assist the individual developing and implementing strategies which will help them to manage the impact of the crisis.

  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality in compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
