JOB SUMMARY:

Uses power industrial equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or transport for storage raw or bulk materials, equipment or finished goods. Loads, unloads, counts, weighs materials or containers and records information on forms.

  • Operate powered fork trucks or pallet jacks equipped with elevating platform or trailer hitch to perform material handling duties.
  • Push, pull, lift, stack, tier, transport

  • Load, unload, count, weigh, issue and return to stock materials or containers and record information on forms.
  • Follow checklist procedures to inspect power equipment prior to each shift for problems. Report problems to Supervisor.
  • Be trained and certified for safe and efficient use of all powered equipment used for material handling.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Read labels and store materials as above safely in proper locations.
  • Regular attendance on the job, dependability and reliability are required.
  • Sense of ordinary care to prevent material losses or damages to product.

  • Maintain equipment and immediate work area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Repack materials.
  • Prepare and ship smaller orders, including necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other duties and special projects.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including calculations involving fractions, decimals, percentages.
  • Ability to carry out written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, record information on forms.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical work, exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, feeling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Ability to operate fork lift and other powered equipment for material handling.
