This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

This position is responsible administrative support of the Warehouse in Buffalo, IA. Responsibilities include verification and maintenance of records, transactional execution for incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory verification and reconciliation, and communication with carriers and drivers

Job Type: Full Time

Shift(s) Available: 1 st 5:30 - 2 pm Mon - Fri

Compensation : $23.46 - $25/hr

Sign-On Bonus: $1,000

Key Accountabilities

  • Performs administrative or clerical duties in support of the shipment execution process. Completes tasks using company defined procedures, may escalate issues that deviate from established procedures, and regularly makes decisions to resolve moderately complex issues.

  • Applying company defined procedures under limited oversight, collects, prepares, maintains, monitors and send/forwards various required documentation related to shipping and receiving. Regularly interprets documentation components and uses judgment to make moderately complex adjustments to documents.

  • Documents related to shipment/receipt.

  • Customer information (i.e. order specifications, contracts, invoices, etc.)

  • Regulatory and government forms (i.e. customs documents, export certificates, verified gross mass certificates, etc.)

  • Documents supporting FSQR/Quality programs

  • Under limited oversight and using general knowledge and skill

  • Investigate discrepancies with customer and/or internal records and/or the actual count of product by validating the shipping and receiving transactions and SKU/batch number identification.

  • Contributes to the day-to-day operations of Warehouse area, including following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed Safety

Qualifications

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

  • Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)

  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Basic use of a computer and being able to enter and retrieve data

  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Forklift experience

  • 6 months of experience in production related work

  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word

  • Working knowledge of Food Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA and Environmental regulations

  • Working knowledge and experience with GFSI (global food safety Initiative) initiatives and programs

  • 1+ years of experience within Warehouse, shipping or Inventory
