       Position Title: Grant Coordinator/Supervisor FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Director of Curriculum Days: 260Salary - $60,000.00================================================================================ QUALIFICATIONS Requires the following (or equivalent qualifications):

  • BA/BS Degree in related field (education, business, etc)

    Preference given to the following experiences and skill sets:

  • Successful experience writing and managing grant programs, including fiscal management of grant programs

  • Successful teaching or experience working with youth or human services programs

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience with supervising and managing staff and programs

    POSITION PURPOSE In partnership with the Administration team, this position will write grant applications and coordinate granted funded programs to further enhance BCSD’s work with students and align BCSD mission and vision with diversified funding. Identify and research grant opportunities, prepare grant submissions, manage the fiscal and reporting requirements of grants that have been awarded to the District, and lead the implementation of grant funded programs. Directly responsible of the oversight of certain grant funded programs including the 21stCentury Community Learning Center (21CCLC) grant, locally known as PIECES, under the guidance of the 21CCLC grant mandated by the Department of Education and the youth mentoring Club M program, and the Gear Up Program. The primary focus will be the coordination of program development and implementation: staff development, and budget management for the after-school grant and Club M. PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES Grant Writing and Management

  • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate, or government sources.

  • Evaluates degree of match between listed grant priority areas and the needs of BCSD for the purpose of matching needs with funding sources.

  • Researches grant opportunities (e.g. facility improvements, professional development, curriculum development, administrative needs) for the purpose of developing additional funding resources for both current and proposed services, programs and administrative operations as well as serving as a clearinghouse for potential grant funding opportunities.

  • Responsible for financial management of grant funds, including budgets, submission of claims, and maintaining necessary documentation.

  • Writes reports and necessary grant documentation following a grant application and award.

  • Submit proposals within deadlines to BCSD Administrators for approvals prior to submission of grants.

  • Supports the Superintendent and Director of Curriculum through preparation of written materials and presentations for the purpose of getting out clear and effective communication.

  • In coordination with the Business Director, monitors the financial management of grants (budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of complying with all programs and funding guidelines of awarding organizations.

  • Work in collaboration with community agencies, including Family Health Services, Department of Human Services, law enforcement officials, and juvenile justice officials, regarding school/student related situations and in coordination of the YouthNet Collaborative.

    Program Management

  • Establish and maintain grant-funded campus-based programs including the after school programs (through the 21CCLC and Club M) and Gear Up Program, to improve student academics, attendance, behaviors, promotion rates, and graduation rates.

  • Plan, develop, oversee and evaluate overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet grant objectives and the needs and interests of students.

  • Ensure the establishment and implementation of all policies and procedures that fulfill the requirements of the grants.

  • Ensure the reporting of student data and information from each after school building to meet the grant reporting requirements to ensure that timelines are met.

  • Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, participation, or other data as needed.

  • Ensure the control of grant budgets as related to building and program contracts with funders.

  • Provide direct and indirect supervision of grant funded staff.

  • Require, manage, and provide staff development opportunities for staff and volunteers of grant funded programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of state and federal statutes as it relates to education. Knowledge of technology as it relates to education. PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL EFFORT Continuous speaking, hearing, and visual effort. Frequent walking, sitting, standing and reaching. Occasional climbing. High degree of concentration requiring continuous and often intense mental and visual attention. Numerous irregularities, complicated and complex tasks are involved. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is primarily performed in a school building site. Occasionally exposed to dust, noise and other irritants. Stress associated with work pace and pressure. Work involves irregular hours and days. Some travel required. Exposed to hazards of the road when traveling.
