DES MOINES COUNTY Receptionist/Clerk II in BURLINGTON, Iowa

The Receptionist/Clerk II supports the Sheriff and Command Staff with specific business functions. Internal candidates will be considered for this full-time position which may result in a part time opening with similar job duties. Please note your interest in full-time, part-time or both.

Customer Service is a shared main responsibility with the following additional duties:

  • Answer phone to include the handling of those calls
  • Assist customers at the window
  • Sex Offender Registry

``` - Main person of contact - Register sex offenders at the counter; enter in Flex - Monthly reports to schools - Maintain monthly list from the state level - Assist detectives and deputies with scheduled and unscheduled sex offender compliance checks

``` - Work within multiple programs for information search - Additional follow up as needed

``` - Entry of approved permits/upload to state database

Other duties include:

  • Prepare monthly reports for contract towns
  • Assist with daily entry and processing of civil papers
  • Process and/or record all incoming mail (shared responsibility)
  • Timely daily entry of arrest warrants (shared responsibility)

Compensation: The annual salary to start is $30,268.00. This position has regular pay increases and a current top pay of $40,408.00 and an hourly rate of $20.72.Additional benefits include:
