students. Helps ensure success for all learners. Provides services necessary for the identification and
diagnostic evaluation of children/students with hearing impairments and for the planning of educational
programs and services for them. Responsibilities 1. Supports total school/community efforts to create a positive learning environment for students/children.
Serves as liaison among AEA, district building(s), families and community and collaborates with various teams to assure positive outcomes for all learners.
Models, implements and assesses strategies related to learning, social, emotional and behavioral needs to enhance educational programming for all learners.
4 . Consults with teachers and administrators regarding best practices for classroom and building educational programs.7. Provides consultation/inservice regarding implications of hearing loss, appropriate educational interventions and services for deaf/hard of hearing, amplification, acoustics, hearing conservation, and discipline specific needs.
8.. Identifies auditory problems in pediatric/student populations served, in collaboration with audiometrists.
9.. Recommends appropriate medical referrals and educational follow-up. 10. Oversees audiometric screening/testing by audiometrists. Qualifications 1. Master’s degree in Audiology.
Iowa educational support license with B-12 school audiologist endorsement or Department of Public
