GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Compliance Specialist & EMS Scheduler is responsible for ensuring all students in Health Occupations are compliant to attend clinical rotations. In addition, this individual will schedule all EMS students (including Paramedic) for their mandatory clinical hours. Finally, the individual will be responsible for assisting Health Occupations with the background check process for all non-credit and credit students. If the candidate has the knowledge and background, will ask individual to participate in accreditation and academic affairs processes.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain records from students to ensure compliance with Kirkwood’s clinical affiliation agreement.

  • Coordinate with Castle Branch to maintain accurate electronic record keeping.

  • Collaborate with relevant staff in Health Occupations to schedule EMS students for their mandatory hours.

  • Assist Kirkwood administrators and staff through the background check process and logistics, including coordination of additional review of students with the committee.

  • Participate in Simulation Technician activities if needed.

  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in a sporting event setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma

  • 3 years’ experience organizing logistics and/or process improvement at any industry or organization

  • Moderate level technology skills, including Excel and Word

  • Willingness to learn new technology

  • Ability to communicate with students, industry partners, and administrators

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS,LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree

  • Familiarity with accreditation and/or credit programs at Kirkwood

  • Earned healthcare credential or employed in a healthcare setting
