The Capture Team Leader (CTL) is accountable for the overall success of the highest tier of “must win” pursuits within the Mission Systems strategic business unit. The CTL is instrumental in building the pursuit’s strategic intent / framework, ensuring disciplined strategic execution, and making continual progress to increase win probability. Central to this role is leading customer interactions, driving a unified strategy across a team of subject matter experts, and ensuring alignment with executive leadership. This position reports to the Capture Center of Excellence Director, who in turn reports to the Vice President of Business Development for Mission Systems.

Qualified candidates are skillful communicators across functional areas, decisive problem solvers across an array of pursuit issues, and exhibit the temperament to successfully resolve conflict. These communication and decision-making skills will be used to understand issues facing pursuit teams and distill them into innovative solutions to be applied across captures. The successful candidate will:

  • Be a critical thinker, who poses insightful questions to guide the team to refined win strategies

  • Have penchant for driving teams to excellence, a critical eye for the written word, and a breadth of experience to coach teams using lessons learned

  • Have strong knowledge of the capture process, experience managing pursuits, and background in the establishment and implementation of process enhancements

  • Exhibit proven leadership in strategic thought, appropriate analysis, well-prepared contributions, and sound, timely decision-making

  • Demonstrate the embodiment of a positive, passionate sense of urgency and will instill it in teammates and co-workers

  • Exhibit the capability to foster an environment which enables application of innovative thinking to business challenges resulting in creative and competitive solutions

  • Demonstrate the ability to influence complex changes with customers in a rapidly evolving environment

  • Confidently and competently brief senior leadership with a mature executive presence

    What You Will Do:

  • Develop an innovative Capture Plan focused on customer influence and executable win strategies

  • Analyze the customer / competitive environments and develop a plan to fill information gaps

  • Drive critical thought and alternative viewpoints into decision-making

  • Foster creative thought and innovation; think of things that no one else considers

  • Drive customer interactions to instill trust and influence toward our offering

  • Influence the architecture and technical offering to ensure trades increase win probability

  • Impact win probability through thoughtful input and decisions on teaming roles, submitted price, program schedule, and contract terms

  • Ensure team consists of adequately trained, skilled, experienced, and available resources

  • Lead pursuit cadence with leadership to ensure maximum collaboration and timely communication

  • Manage team dynamics, lead daily status meetings, and hold people accountable for meeting deadlines

  • Lead analysis of customer documents and question generation / strategy

  • Throughout capture process, ensure highest probability of win through complete, compliant, responsive, and compelling responses

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret Security Clearance is required ​

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Security Clearance ​

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
