This position is for an Electrical Engineering Co-OP Student with interests in Hardware circuit board design to work in Communication Products Engineering. This position is for the summer/fall 2021 session. This position provides the opportunity for the student to broaden their background with a practical approach to engineering. The primary goal for the student is to merge theoretical knowledge gained in school with practical engineering applications
The types of responsibilities include assisting Senior Electrical Engineers in the design, development, support, and documentation associated with both digital and analog circuitry used in high performance communication products, such as software-defined radios and data links.
This position offers the opportunity to expand the student's knowledge and skills of all phases of electrical hardware design, including requirements capture, design, schematic capture, layout, test/verification, integration, and factory transition.
Specific types of engineering-related activities include analog/digital electronics design and test, component analysis and troubleshooting of electronic circuitry.
This position not only supports design engineers, but also plays a key role in supporting factory, field, and customer related issues.
Candidates must be motivated to learn new technologies, a strong team player, and contribute to a positive work environment.
A successful candidate will also have the ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce effective, clear and concise technical documentation.
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Familiarity with digital electronics design principles and techniques
Ability to create and utilize schematics, procedures, engineering drawings, and follow written/verbal instructions, including test procedures.
Ability to utilize basic lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, etc.)
