Aerotek Front Desk Specialist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa


  • This position is seen as a foot in the door and there is opportunity for back office advancement down the road

  • This person will be sitting directly at the front and answering incoming patient calls for scheduling appointments or also be greeting patients as they come in for their appointments

  • Could take up to 60 or more calls in one days and the number of face to face interactions depends on the amount of appointments scheduled that day

  • It does require a lot of multi-tasking and organization because each provider/psychologist schedules differently and has different schedules

  • This person may also be calling patients if doctors need to re-schedule or are not in the office that day

  • They will be working on the internal scheduling system and pulling up patient information so strong computer skills is very important

  • Checking patients in and out and sometimes processing insurance

  • While it is seen as an entry level position it can be challenging due to the amount of medical information they are working with and variety of different patients they are working with

  • They may also be assisting with other small projects if there is time
