Job Description:
Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity this summer to join our team as a Project Engineer Intern! This role is designed for high schoolers to gain exposure specific to a Project Management position. Additionally, this role will gain insight into additional opportunities available in the construction industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.
- Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
- Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
- Jobsite experience will be limited to interns that are over the age of 18.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Interest in a career in the construction industry.
- Able to work at least 20 hours per week in-person.
- Able to commute to our Cedar Rapids office.
- Working toward a high school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Show a high level of professionalism and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
- Self-motivated
- Eager to work with a project team and learn about the construction industry
Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $20-$25/hour. The hourly rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
