Actalent Lab Technician in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

As a Lab Technician, you will perform all in-house testing for our Pharma division and record the results in the ERP system. You will monitor raw material and packaging component receipts, perform required tests, and release in the ERP system. Your responsibilities will also include preparing samples for outside labs, creating reagents, and maintaining lab equipment. You will also be responsible for calibrating lab equipment and monitoring lab supplies. You will effectively communicate with production and other lab personnel about in-process quality results and conduct regular lab inspections. Drafting, reviewing, and revising SOPs and worksheets, training lab and production personnel on lab procedures, and liaising with outside labs, customers, and suppliers will also be part of your job. You will also be expected to execute other responsibilities and projects as required.

Qualiofications

  • 4 year science degree in Chemistry, Biology, microbiolgy, etc. (Prefers someone with a Chemistry or Organic Chemistry experience)

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility, and you will be expected to be comfortable working in a plant setting. Normal working hours will be a day shift of 8-4 or 7-3, and after a training period of 4-6 weeks, there may be an opportunity to work a 4x10 schedule with a rotating day off.
