Job Title: Mechanic (heavy equipment)

Job Type: Full-Time Eligible for Tool Reimbursement Program

Job Summary

Looking for a multi-versed mechanic who enjoys working on multiple makes and models of heavy equipment. There is something new every day. In this position you will have the opportunity to repair equipment in our shop as well as travel to different quarry locations. Come join one of the best maintenance teams around.

Wendling Quarries, Inc. (WQI) is a third-generation family owned and operated business that produces crushed stone, sand and gravel for individuals and businesses in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

    Job Duties:

  • Making repairs to heavy construction equipment as well as our fleet of trucks

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues

  • Ability to learn to operate all types of construction equipment

  • General welding and fabrication skills a plus

    Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of basic mechanics and working knowledge of large equipment

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Acceptable driving record

  • Basic computer skills

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to get CDL- Class A (Wendling will help you get it)

    Hours: Monday - Friday. On average works 50 to 55 (overtime available) hour weeks depending on the season.
