Motion IndustriesWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Category: Manufacturing/Production/OpsJob Id: 259586Brand: Motion IndustriesLocation: Cedar Rapids, IAMajor Market: IA i Cedar RapidsDate Posted: November 5, 2018Apache, Inc. is a division of Motion Industries.This position safely and effectively follows work orders and/or prints to prepare belt for fabrication, fill and place molds in correct patterns, adjust and operate vulcanizing presses and ensure products meet quality and visual standards.This is a second shift position.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesiRead and interpret press operation orders and blue prints.iLocate and gather materials, molds/tooling and supplies needed.iLoad belt onto roller correct side up and secure it to feeder table.iPrepare belt by either using a template or measuring and marking it before grinding the application design, if not automated.iPaint ground surfaces with adhesive.iMeasure and cut extrusion rubber and load molds with it.iPlace the molds on the adhesion at the same angle until the length of the belt to be vulcanized is full.iSet blocking bars and sheets within the press to ensure even pressure during operation.iSet up, adjust and operate various vulcanizing presses for correct pressure, heat and time.iComplete press production records.iAt the end of the press cycle, advance the belt and remove bars, sheets, molding, etc.iRepeat steps for the length of the belt.iCut off overlapping lengths of applications and remove extra flash and markings.iSquare the ends of the belt, as needed.iTag the product with the work order number and take it to order fulfillment or packaging area.iClose out orders in the computer system.iMaintain a clean, organized work area.iPerform upkeep on tools.iAttend work regularly and predictably and uphold Company values in all work aspects.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNot applicable.Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in main units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, and decimals. Ability to determine and mark angle degrees needed for correct finished product. Skills include active listening, effective verbal and written communicating, monitoring and quality control assessing. A forklift license is helpful.Working EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will utilize all required personal protective equipment and will occasionally work in hot, somewhat noisy conditions where material particles from grinding and other operations may occasionally be present.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use his/her hands with strength, coordination and precision and see details at close range. The employee is occasionally required to bend, reach, push, pull, climb, talk and hear.
