Role overview

The newly launched Professional Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (PrIME) Rotation Program at Collins Aerospace is seeking motivated engineers with relevant engineering backgrounds to participate in Cohort 1, beginning in the June 2021 timeframe. The PrIME Rotational Program was developed to provide early career professionals with opportunity to:

  • Accelerate learning and career development

  • Enhance knowledge and relationships throughout the organization

  • Gain exposure to manufacturing & industrial engineering (ME/IE) leadership and challenging work assignments

  • Develop and improve existing engineering and operations skills and business acumen

  • Explore and enhance Collins Aerospace product knowledge

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Begins Summer of 2021

  • Two-year program consisting of 8-month rotations across various Collins Aerospace business units

  • Rotations will provide exposure to a variety of ME/IE disciplines including, but not limited to:

  • Additive Design & Manufacturing

  • Digital Tools

  • Mechanical Transformation & Fabrication

  • Electronics and Mechanical Producibility

  • Test Equipment & Processes

  • Industrial Automation & Robotics

  • Individual development planning

  • Performance feedback during and after rotations

  • Provides strategic and tactical mentoring relationships with leadership

  • Exposure to high-profile and impactful projects

  • Active participation in networking and educational opportunities

  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of professionalism

  • Strong technical/problem solving

  • Willingness to share best practices and partner with organizations

  • Strong focus on ethics, trust and building relationships

  • Ability to address risks and challenges in a timely manner

  • Ability to work well within teams, as well as work autonomously and be creative and innovative

  • Willingness to continue learning

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR

  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • Ability and willingness to travel and relocate throughout the course of the program
