This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What YOU Will Do:

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility for this position is providing support to teams with Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) by acting as a subject matter expert and developing/improving standard work.

• Serve as subject matter expert on manufacturing processes including: equipment, floor layouts, work sequence, work instructions, procedures, and work flow.

• Identify process improvements opportunities using analysis, modeling, benchmarking, research, etc.

• Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems  

• Provide measurable input into the sequence of operations and work instructions

• Develop, improve, and document standard work in areas such as process documentation, preventative maintenance, and validation/verification

• Contribute to plans for allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization (e.g. build line design, sequencing, loading, & staffing plans)

• Prepare project cost estimates and cost benefit analysis to validate cost requirements/targets against pertinent business plan(s) and program expectations while achieving economic goals for complex systems and products in production and/or under development

• Program, integrate, and validate/verify new manufacturing equipment

• Review products/processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks and work with design to incorporate changes to eliminate the risks

• Manage moderately sized projects or processes

• Independently resolve problems that are difficult and often complex with minimal oversight from manager

• Independently prioritize tasks as needed and communicate as necessary with leadership

• Provide clear project status and produce necessary documentation

• Develop tactical plans to manage day-to-day challenges

• Develop forward looking strategic plans

• Document lessons learned and share with team members

• Use various software packages to maintain and update documents and records

• Coach and delegate work to junior level professional

  Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
