LOCATION: Cedar Rapids, IA

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred

EXPERIENCE: 3 – 5 years’ experience

This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. In order to be able to meet procurement needs, this role will be involved in sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with supplies as well as collaboration with various departments internally to meet organizational goals.

What You’ll Accomplish and Experience

  • Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers which align to the company's technical requirements and standards

  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency and quality

  • Management of financial planning, forecasting and budget adherence

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop procurement strategies that support project timelines and objectives

  • Stay up-to-date about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to make informed procurement decisions

  • Source and select suppliers by evaluating proposals based on technical specifications, quality, and cost as it relates to the business

  • Create purchase orders, manage order fulfillment to ensure timely delivery of products to both internal and external clients

  • Provide leadership direction to Logistics Management team, fostering a collaborative and high performance culture

  • Mentor and develop team members, identifying training needs and opportunities for professional growth

  • Establish clear goals and expectations, aligning with the companies strategic goal

  • Conduct formal meeting cadence with team members for check ins and reviews

  • Leads by example, demonstrating humility, and serving as a role model for ethical and responsible behavior

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and potential changes in market conditions

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, legal requirements and any industry standards

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, contracts, supplier agreements as well as inventory

    Desirable Previous Experience

  • OSHA knowledge for applying safety procedures and safe lifting habits

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook )

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of technical specifications and requirements related to the industry

  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions

  • Moderate lifting & carrying – up to 50 lbs
