Job Description: We are working with an Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing company working to help civilian, military, and government customers. Their clients rely on them for smart and safeguarded communications, purpose-built systems for distinct aircraft and spacecraft, and cooperative space answers. This company is looking for a contract Senior DevOps Engineer on site in their Cedar Rapids, Iowa office.

By becoming a member of their workforce, you will play a vital role in guaranteeing their customers' present success and proactively addressing their future requirements. This role is for a brand-new avionics research group within the company. This group acts as a startup within the enterprise with tons of room for growth.

Contract Duration: 1 year

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.

  • OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • OR in absence of a degree 9 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issues security clearance.

  • Experience with server-side scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.

  • Experience in automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.

  • Any familiarity with GitLab CI/CD is advantageous, along with prior DevOps experience involving Jira, Coverity, Nexus, Artifactory, Ansible, Splunk, or equivalent alternatives.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist in the creation and enhancement of automation solutions that empower our teams to develop and deploy code efficiently and consistently.

  • Assume responsibility for overseeing the program's CI/CD pipeline, refining the integration of code and the delivery process for the simulation environment.

  • Provide guidance to teams in the creation, testing, and deployment of modifications to existing software.

  • Demonstrate adeptness in troubleshooting to resolve issues related to the build chain or CI/CD pipeline tools.

  • Enhance the infrastructure of the program's CI/CD pipeline.

  • Identify manual procedures suitable for automation, offering suggestions for strategy and enhancements, drawing from prior experience in automated testing as an element of a CI/CD pipeline.

  • When introducing changes and enhancements, take into account the entirety of the organization's CI/CD infrastructure.
