Aston Carter Staff Accountant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Staff Accountant

Permanent position

$52k/yr. to $62k/yr.

This position is with a client located in Anamosa, IA in the manufacturing industry. This position is a great opportunity to get in with a small accounting team and work very closely with the controller on month end close, etc.

Description:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of project financial information including recording, summarizing, and analysis of project costs.

  • Invoicing & revenue recognition

  • Project financial review

  • Responsible for project administration including licensing & registration, sales & use tax, schedule of value updates, etc.

  • Working on daily accounting functions such as general ledger, month end process, journal entries, and payables,

  • Will also be involved in some inventory controls.

  • Other Accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required

  • 1+ years of accounting experience

  • Experience within accounting in manufacturing industry preferred but not required.

  • Basic understanding of the month end close process and journal entries

  • Excel skills
