We are looking for a strategic business manager who will enthusiastically participate in visioning by developing a current state assessment and a target state strategy for communications in our employee benefit and retirement operations areas.

Job Description

What you will do:

The strategic business manager will gather current state inventory, analyze it, recommend simplification and reduce inventory within the Transamerica Workplace Solutions Correspondence Office. This role will be charged with participating in the development and finalization of the teams work and have a heavy focus on simplification and reduction. In collaboration with your operations, legal & compliance and client-facing partners, you will work on the creation and documentation of our operational communication inventory. You will own reporting and insights to identify and evaluate opportunities to drive priorities and cost savings and will be responsible for the analysis of the Office’s efforts & effectiveness via reporting. This role will succeed on your ability to convert data into insights including implications and recommendations that are specific and actionable for the team to act upon. Finally, this role will lean on stakeholders and data teams to acquire necessary information for robust analysis. You will do this by partnering with other members of the CX teams and work to identify, implement, and analyze a/b tests and campaigns. In this role, you will manage multiple projects in an agile manner and help influence others who develop content as needed.

What You Will Learn:

While the Office is “technology agnostic,” there are a lot of terrific change initiatives under way to transform how Transamerica does business. Familiarity with CMSs, CRMs, IVRs, and a bunch of other acronyms will go a long way.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Active knowledge of current state operations and systems including pain points
  • Ability to effectively communicate and message to internal/external stakeholders
  • Working relationships with the Business Engagement managers within the Correspondence Office and SMEs
  • High emotional intelligence, lots of finesse, and the ability to navigate our organization
  • Critical and analytical thinking
  • Existing knowledge of target state opportunities for improvement

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience. Preferred degree in Marketing, Business or Communications.
  • Eight years of strategic planning experience in a similar environment or in a planning/consultant role.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization to guide in strategic planning fundamentals and plan execution.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to plan strategy, tactics and perform root cause analysis.
  • Presentation skills to create and deliver information to a wide audience.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, lifecycles, etc.
  • Proficiency using MS Office tools, specifically excel
  • Preferred: Experience in financial services operations and/or other highly regulated industry
  • Preferred: Experience working with managers in Operations, Marketing, Legal, Risk, and IT
  • Preferred: Experience supporting organizational transformation

It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. **

Compensation:

The salary for this position generally ranges between $95,550 - $126,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is also typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 15%.
